Design of CSD Coefficient FIR Filters Using 0-1PSO with Successive Search

Abstract(in English) In this paper, a design of CSD (Canonic Signed Digit) coefficient FIR (Finite Impulse Response) filters using 0-1PSO having a successive search is developed. It is known that the CSD representation of filter coefficients is effective to reduce a circuit scale of FIR filters. The design method of CSD coefficient FIR filters using 0-1PSO has been already proposed. However, 0-1PSO tends to converge prematurely due to the local minimum stagnation when a large number of iterations are required. Therefore, 0-1PSO is improved for avoiding the premature convergence. Several design examples show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
