Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Southeast Asia is known to be a "Hotspot" for emerging, re-emerging and novel infectious diseases. In many outbreaks, Southeast Asia has somehow became a potential originate area of the pandemic. Currently, traditional surveillance system has been existed but its report is not up-to-date. The public announcement for each outbreak usually warns after the peak level of infection. The internet-based surveillance system is a new approach that has proved to be an effective method to detect the sign of outbreak in a couple weeks early when compare to the traditional system. Our study aims to advance the digital infectious disease detection by developing an internet-based approaches of merging the real-time data with the existing traditional surveillance data. This system is comprised of an ongoing systematic collection, a novel analysis algorithm, and the interpretation module of health data which is essential to the planning, implementation and evaluation of the contagious disease control. The outcome from the system are timely dissemination of data to the responsible persons in public health or other related organization involving with the disease control. |
