Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We are developing the technology of human monitoring camera systems using intermittent-sensing scheme. In this system, to reduce power consumption, CMOS image sensor is powered on and captures the optical image when is detected human using low-power IR array sensor. In order to realize the system, low power Analog Front End (AFE) circuit that reads small output voltage of IR array sensor is required. Therefore, we examined the circuit for IR array sensor using methods of dual-slope analog-to-digital (A/D) converter. Consequently, it can be expected that the power reduction of approximately 86% compared with the case of existing IR array sensor device, and the battery life of about 9.5 months, which is 4 times longer than the previous system using existing IR array sensor device as the whole of system.
