Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Wind noise is often an issue of hearing aid in outdoor. Generally a windproof is utilized to reduce the noise by attaching to the microphone. However, for hearing aids, the wind noise is reduced by signal processing since it is hard to attach the windproof to the microphone. We have proposed wind noise reduction algorithm for binaural hearing aids system that preserves binaural hearing information. This algorithm requires 32ms frame length in order to high frequency resolution for wind noise detection. On the other hand, tolerable delay time for hearing aids is 6ms approximately. Therefore, some improvement in the algorithm is required for low delay time and effective wind noise reduction. In this paper, we proposed low delay binaural wind noise cancellation algorithm using frequency warped filter. Delay time caused by this algorithm is shorter than the tolerable one, while frequency resolution in low frequency range is the same as one of our previous method. As results of subjective experiments, proposed method gives almost the same score as the conventional high-pass filter method for directionality of the output signal. Meanwhile, externality by the proposed method is superior to by the conventional one.
