Optimal Construction Scheduling of Virtual Networks for Increasing of Revenues and Decreasing Construction Delay

Abstract(in English) In the network virtualization, multiple virtual networks can be constructed independently on a physical network, and a service provider who owns the physical network can obtain revenues from users by providing the virtual networks. In order for the service provider to obtain a large amount of revenues by constructing virtual networks, some virtual network constructions where multiple construction requests are processed according to a batch process have been proposed. In this paper, we propose an optimal scheduling for constructing virtual networks to increase the amount of revenues and to decrease the construction delay of virtual networks. In the proposed scheduling, at first, the service provider receives multiple requests for constructing virtual networks in a certain period. Then, the service provider designs topologies of the virtual network for the received requests with KMB algorithm. After the topology design is completed, the service provider determines the optimal scheduling for constructing virtual networks by solving an optimization problem with genetic algorithm. By using the proposed scheduling, it is expected that the service provider can obtain a large amount of revenues from users and the delay of virtual network construction can be decreased. We evaluate the performance of our proposed scheduling with simulation, and we show the effectiveness of our proposed scheduling by comparing with an existing method in numerical examples.
