| Abstract(in English) | In this study, we propose an optical fiber sensor network with high-capacity communication that is not accomplished in the previous agricultural support system. Recently, the development of agricultural support systems has been promoted by companies and research institutions as the solution to the labor shortage in agriculture. The previous agricultural support systems are usually composed of electric sensor and wireless network. However, wireless communication has limitation on the capacity and distance. Moreover the electric sensors have the high failure rate of the outdoors. Therefore, we propose a sensor network using hetero-core optical fiber sensor that has low failure rate in the outdoor environment and capable of long-distance and high-capacity communication. Experimental results show that it is possible to measuring soil moisture content and detect intruders by sending image data in our sensor network. |
