Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | The transport network consists of various types of components, which differ in the amount of accommodated traffic, the reliability, and the number of deployed components. Thus, it is essential for redundancy design of transport networks to select the suitable method, and adjust the degree of redundancy and maintenance condition considering the unavailability determined by the deployed number for each type of component. However, conventional designs have considered just link and node failure, and haven’t taken into account the failure for each component. In this paper, we analyze the potential of relaxation of maintenance condition by evaluating relationship between the amount of backup resource deployed in network and the end-to-end reliability of paths focusing on the failure for each component. As a result, we found that only quite small amount of backup resource is required to prevent impairment of redundancy even after occurrence of failure, if we are required to prepare only the failure of a transponder, of which the number deployed in network is quite huge. |
