Accelerometer Assisted Authentication Scheme for Smart Bicycle Lock

Abstract(in English) We propose an accelerometer assisted authentication scheme for a smart bicycle lock with near field communication and accelerometer modules. While riding a bicycle, a smart lock and Android smartphone simultaneously measure acceleration and generate a one-time password. However, using raw acceleration measurements as password causes poor concordance between lock and smartphone. Hence, we calculate a score vector for each device based on change in acceleration and use it for authentication. A high similarity between two score vectors indicates the smartphone was in the vicinity and the lock is unlocked. We evaluate the efficiency by actually riding a bicycle.
