A Study on Filtering Tolerance of 512-Gb/s Dual-Carrier PDM-16QAM Signals in ROADM Networks

Abstract(in English) Recently, a 400-Gb/s-based transmission system is especially focused on as a promising candidate of the next generation transmission system. There are several approaches to realize 400-Gb/s signals in combination with baud-rate, modulation format and number of subcarriers. Especially, dual-carrier PDM-16QAM signal is focused on metro networks which are rapidly increasing data traffic demand. In addition, since wavelength selective switches (WSSs) in reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexers (ROADM) are connected in multiple stages on metro networks, the cascaded filtering effects which occur in ROADMs is a serious concern. Therefore, we experimentally investigate filtering tolerance of 400-Gb/s signal (DC-PDM-16QAM signals) in 75-GHz-grid ROADM networks considering.
