Abstract(in English) | In this paper, we investigate the application of turbo code to Super-Nyquist Wavelength-Division-Multiplexed (WDM) signals. In Super-Nyquist WDM systems, the duobinary shaping and a decoder based on maximum likelihood sequence estimation are usually used for suppression of both WDM crosstalk and the inter-symbol interference. After the decoder of duobinary shaping, errors arising from additive noise tend to propagate, resulting in degradation of the error correction performance. First, we numerically evaluate the performance of the convolutional code for Super-Nyquist WDM signals. The results suggest the performance of the convolutional code is remarkably degraded by the decoder of duobinary shaping. Next, we investigate the application of the turbo code to Super-Nyquist WDM signals. For suppression of the performance degradation due to the duobinary shaping, we propose the turbo decoder including decoder of the duobinary shaping, which is called turbo equalization. We evaluate the performance of turbo code in Super-Nyquist WDM systems using our decoder based on turbo equalizer. The turbo equalization is effective to suppress the performance degradation due to the duobinary shaping. |
