The Dual System Consisting of Two Modules Which Depend on Each Other in State Recovery Phase

抄録(和) This paper discusses the reliability evaluation for 1-out-of-2 system with two-stage repair modes, i.e., hardware restoration mode and data reconstruction mode. The hardware restoration always execute independently on two modules. On the other hand, we suppose that data reconstruction on one module can be omitted by data replication if another module is in normal mode operation. In this 1-out-of-2 system, thus, two modules mutually cooperate with each other in recovery mode. Markov chain is used as the evaluation model to derive a reliability measure, ``Unavailability". The numerical examples illustrate that by having two modules cooperating mutually, the reliability of the system can be improved. It is also verified that the more the time require for the data reconstruction process increases the more significant the system can be, in terms of system reliability.
