Abstract(in English) | The latest video compression standard, H.265/HEVC, achieves high compression efficiency. However, a reduction of high encoding complexity has been a problem in practical use. One of the main factors of high complexity is the rate calculation of transform coefficients in rate-distortion process. In this paper, we propose significant coefficient flag and its positions based novel rate estimation method for H.265/HEVC in transform coefficient domain. Simulation experiments show that the proposed method achieves high coding efficiency with the similar encoding speed improvement over the conditional method. |
