Ellipsoid fitting based imaging extrapolation algorithm for 140GHz-band multi-static radar

Abstract(in English) With super-resolution, 140-GHz ultra-wideband millimeter wave radar has many promising applications. For such applications, the successful algorithm, named range points migration (RPM) has been proposed to estimate boundary points of targets. However, due to aperture limitation of sensing system, usually, the detectable boundary points only cover a small portion of target surface. This fact causes the difficulty to recognize the target structure from RPM result directly. As a promising approach for RPM image interpretation, this paper proposes an imaging extrapolation algorithm for multistatic radar based on ellipsoid fitting. The results show that the proposed method can accurately extrapolate the target shape under limited aperture size.
