Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | This paper presents reconfigurable backhaul link operating in 60 GHz band for a number of mmWave small cells. The considered backhaul solution implements WiGig/IEEE 802.11ad standard, uses low cost Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) technology for radiofrequency (RF) and baseband (BB) parts and high gain steerable Lens-Array Antennas (LAA) at the mmWave small cell BSs. The LAA antenna system integrates mmWave phased antenna array in 60 GHz band and dielectric lens of simple toroidal geometry. It allows to achieve the total antenna gain 27dBi at each side of the radio link and support beam steering in horizontal plane at the angle range from -45 to 45? The proposed LAA technology provides single backhaul link operational range up to 200m with transmission data rate of 4.6 Gbps. The demonstrated real life HD TV transmission makes the implementation of high throughput dynamically reconfigurable multi-hop wireless backhaul networks feasible. |
