Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The sinoatrial node plays a role of a cardiac pacemaker. The sinoatrial node cells generate electrical signals voluntarily and periodically. The conductions of these signals from cell to cell in the heart result in heartbeats. The action potentials of sinoatrial node cells are described by Hodgkin-Huxley type models. The Zhang model is representative, and enables us to take account of thirteen kinds of ion currents. However, Zhang model exhibits ``bistability". Action potentials may be stopped and thus the Zhang model is not adequate for a model of pacepaker cells. We studied the effect of each ion current on the bistability of the model in detail.
