Abstract(in English) 5th generation mobile communication system using higher frequency band has gotten much attention, andmassive-MIMO technologies are expected to improve spectral efficiency dramatically. To satisfy the requirements for 5G, multi-beam based spatial multiplexing is one of the key technologies. This exhibit shows an analog-beamforming MIMO (APAA-MIMO) technology with active phased array antenna (APAA) and digital MIMO processing for the multi-beam multiplexing. Furthermore, the authors measure outdoor channels using 44-GHz band APAA and obtain a cluster-channel model. For a proof of the multi-beam multiplexing concept, the system throughput of the proposed multi-beam multiplexing technologies as a 5G base station is evaluated by the computer simulation with the channel model.
