Semi-Blind Estimation of Sparse Channels in OFDM Systems

Abstract(in English) In this article, we consider semi-blind estimation of sparse channels in OFDM systems. The proposed semi-blind estimation method combines a conventional blind estimation method with both the least square method using a small number pilot symbols and the L1 norm minimization method taking into account the sparsity of channels. Through performance evaluation by simulation, we show that the proposed method provides a better BER performance than the conventional methods, while achieving the better performance when channel length is unkown.
