A Campus Network System Enabling Seamless Connections with Public Cloud Services

Abstract(in English) In universities, campus network systems which have convenience and user-friendliness while ensuring stability and security has been mandatory. Meanwhile, utilization of cloud computing is steadily spreading among not only enterprises but also academic organizations. The existing campus networks are strongly required to have features for taking advantages of public cloud computing. Since 2013, Hiroshima University has been made a smooth transition on backbone computer systems such as financial accounting system or HR payroll system, etc., from on-premise to public cloud services. In this paper, we describe the campus network system connecting to public cloud services, and discuss knowledge and issue obtained by utilization of SINET4 and cloud services.
