[Poster Presentation] Evaluation of a Low Power CGRA EMAX Embedded with Zynq

Abstract(in English) We have been proposing EMAX (Energy-Aware Multimode AcceleratorExtension) that is one of CGRAs and can employ maximum reusability ofembedded local memories in stencil computations. MAX). EMAX has 2D one-directional local memory network and functional unit (FU) network. In this poster, we attached EMAX on Xilinx ZC706 which has ARM and FPGA so that EMAX and ARM can share the main memory space, and evaluated the bottlenecks of the system. From the result of executing five stencil applications on the system, memcpy to a fixed address in ARM before sending control data to EMAX was found to be a severe bottleneck. Then we assumed a new mechanism that can send data directly to the specified address, and got a performance estimation that EMAX with 1/12 frequency can achieve 1.2x higher performance than ARM/Zynq.
