Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In offering more reliable and convenient means of authentication than traditional methods, biometrics systems have become increasingly important. Yet, biometric systems also exhibit several weaknesses, particularly their relative vulnerability to sophisticated spoofing. To improve the accuracy of security during digital authentication, countermeasures against impersonation need to be developed, for example, the unique fake finger detection sensor that uses a complementary split-ring resonator (CSRR) structure to detect the fingers of impersonators. To implement this sensor into a conventional fingerprint authentication device, optical transparency is a desirable characteristic of the sensor. Accordingly, this paper proposes modified structures of the CSRR-BPF structure using transparent conductive films and describes the simulation results for the fake finger detection characteristics of the transparent sensors. A test-fixture design for an experimental investigation into the proposed transparent CSRR-BPF sensors is also presented.
