Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Waveguide orthomode junction (OMJ) is one of key components of antenna feed systems for satellite communication. It works in two frequency bands to separate or combine vertical- or horizontal- linear polarizations or left- or right- circular polarizations. A coaxial structure is used for reduction of filters and miniaturization. However tracking systems comprised of coaxial structure have not ever almost reported. We propose a coaxial ortho mode transducer with TE21-mode coupler to realize a tracking function. The structure consists of a turn style junction type OMT and a TE21-mode coupler with tapered cylindrical outer conductor. The stepped inner conductor of coaxial structure contributes to the matching of both the OMT and the TE21-mode coupler so it makes possible to arrange them closely. We fabricated a proposed ortho mode transducer with transmission bandwidth of 10%. The measured results demonstrated a return loss of 20dB, TE21-mode coupling coefficient of 14dB. In this report, we show the design method and the measurement results.
