Evanescent Modal Effect of a Wide and Thick Slit Diffraction

Abstract(in English) High frequency asymptotic ray method has been applied to analyze E-polarized plane wave scattering by a wide and thick slit.Slit region is considered as a waveguide which connects upper and lower half spaces,and excitations of the waveguide modes are given by edge diffraction at the open end.In this paper, evanescent mode effect is found to be important to improve the accuracy of the scattering field.
