Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Fiber to the Home (FTTH) has become rapidly widespread. Optical cable networks reaches to user premises and it is increasing in importance to maintain huge amount of optical facilities efficiently. In order to maintain the huge amount of optical cable networks efficiently and functionally with keeping its high reliability, an optical fiber line maintenance and support system, which can carry out several tests remotely, has been developed and installed in the field. This paper describes requirements on maintenance of optical cable networks, in-service testing and periodical tests. Also, configuration of the current optical fiber line maintenance and support system and its functions are introduced.
