Proposal and Development of Haptic Interface for Street Dance Training

Abstract(in English) In recent years, curriculum guidelines were revised by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in Japan and “dance” became compulsory subject of physical education. “Dance” is one of a subject in physical education, consists of “Creative Dance,” “Folk Dance,” and “Contemporary Rhythmical Dance.” Among them, “contemporary rhythmical dance” means street dance, which has a lots of attention now. However, there exist some problems. Such as, lack of instructors and lack of their skills. In this research, our goal is to construct a training environment for street dance with haptic force presentation on plural points of the body by using a wire driven haptic display. This paper discusses design of down-sized environment and plan of human scale environment.
