Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper presents a new hardware description language FSL. The FSL inherits the design philosophy and the language features from hardware description language SFL which allows designers to write the procedural behavior of hardware. In order to improve productivity of hardware design, we adopt the syntax of the programming language Scala which has both features of object-oriented languages and functional languages to the FSL. In this paper, we explain the overview of FSL, and we show examples of FSL description and show that it enables hardware designers to write simple description with higher abstraction level. In addition, we mention the implementation plan of FSL processors and an FSL interpreter that we are currently implementing.
