| Abstract(in English) | When 50 years have passed since the research and development (R&D) of satellite communications was started in Japan, it might be considered to become mature. In this paper, from the viewpoint of denying it, the R&D is discussed after the following 4 periods are mentioned: Initiation until Tokyo Olympic Games of 1964, Com-mencement of satellite development, Period that difficulty occurred, and Period that the future project was prepared. Furthermore, the impact of the Great East Japan Earthquake is discussed. Finally, it is mentioned that the expecta-tions of the new R&D projects will be triggered by the Tokyo Olympic Games/Paralympic Games of 2020. |
