Abstract(in English) In the frequency region below several terahertz, metals act like nearly perfect reflectors with no significant absorption problems, and there are great advantages over the dielectric photonic crystals, such as very wider band-gaps and smaller sizes. This paper presents a novel synthesis technique for terahertz bandpass filters with coupling matrix method. In the design of bandpass filter, the first monopole resonant frequencies of this point defect resonator with a small metal rod are properly adjusted to be placed quasiequally within the passband. The fullwave simulation results are in good agreement with the synthesized results, which confirms the validity of the proposed approach.
