Pool Trial and Evaluation of Robust Underwater Acoustic Communication Systems with Long Delay Multipath Propagation

Abstract(in English) In underwater acoustic (UWA) communication under long delay multipath propagation environment, we have presented data selective rake reception (DSRake) to achieve satisfactory communication performance even for short guard interval (GI). In this paper, we report the evaluation results of communication performance to test the proposed technique in pool trial. In the pool trial, we have utilized the pool with the width of 25 m, the length of 15 m, and the depth of 1.2 m and measured communication performance by combining OFDM, space/frequency diversity, and rake reception techniques. We have shown effectiveness of the proposed technique from the experimental results and validness of the experimental results by the simulation evaluation using delay models based on the measured delay profiles.
