Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The relationships between the uncomfortable loudness level and auditory-evoked responses or spontaneous activity were investigated. As auditory-evoked responses, frequency following response, auditory brainstem response, middle latency response and slow vertex response were adopted. When the RMS magnitude of the frequency following response increased until around uncomfortable level, the response was saturated for low frequencies and rapidly increased for middle and high frequencies. The change rate of the N1m and latency on the auditory-evoked response was detected as minimum value below the uncomfortable level. Since the uncomfortable level was reacted to the frequency following response originated with brainstem in auditory pathway and the N1m response originated with the temporal lobe of the cerebral cortex in auditory pathway, it is possible to estimate the uncomfortable level with these response’s changes.
