Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A schoolgirl was sucked into the water intake of a flowing water swimming pool in Fujimino-city. The accident revealed problems with the pool’s safety management, however, a designer’s viewpoint finds a better design could have prevented the accident. This paper reviews some other swimming pool accidents as well and discusses if design can lessen the number of accidents.
