Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Development of computer vision and other techniques enables us to contactlessly control a video game through facial movements. One of expected effects of playing such games other than training facial muscles is changing one’s mood state through the facial feedback. In the present study, I developed a videogame proceed by recognizing facial expressions and examined the effect of playing the game on one’s mood state. The results showed that participants felt more pleasant after they played the game with facial expression than after they played the game with button pressing, which was prepared as a control condition. These results indicate that playing facial expression game would affect one’s mood state.
