Improvement of RainbowCrack Reduction Function

Abstract(in English) Rainbow table is a method to crack the password in high speed from hash values. Rainbow table can crack passwords only if they are stored in a pre-calculated table. However, overlap of password candidates occurs frequently when the table size is big enough, since the table is made by reduction function. To solve this problem, this paper proposes improvement of reduction function, which is used in RainbowCrack, a representative password cracking software which implements rainbow table. As a result, Overlapping password candidates can be decreased, and cracking time was improved 53.9% compared with RainbowCrack.
