Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) By analyzing naturally-occurring Japanese interactional data, this paper examines the function of interjection hora. Investigating the use of hora in three distinct contexts (i.e. 1. referential activity 2. claiming agreement and its response 3. prediction-verification activity in live car race broadcasting), It is demonstrated that hora is used to signal recipient’s independent access to a particular object in interaction.
