Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An analytical design method of free-space optical systems is established that excites LP modes in FMF with low loss and low cross talk using phase plate when the Aeffs of FMF are given. The coupling efficiency is calculated as a overlap integral with the beam passed through phase plate and Hermite-Gaussian beam at the reference surface in our model. On the other hand, we have constructed the optical system and measured the insertion loss and compared the results with theory.
