Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In a mode division multiplexed transmission system, differential mode delay (DMD) in a transmission line roles as a key parameter on decision for the system configuration and transmission characteristics; therefore, we have to figure out DMD to design a MDM transmission system. We propose a DMD measurement method applying fast-Fourier transformation (FFT) to interference images generated with low-coherence interferometry in the manner of digital holography. In this paper, we report a measurement result of DMD in a weakly-coupled six-mode fiber and show the performance of the proposed method.
