Abstract(in English) | Space-time block coded amplify-and-forward (STBC-AF) relay for wireless relay transmission system using unmanned aircraft (UA) . Our previously proposed STBC-AF relay can achieve better bit error rate (BER) than conventional AF relay while keeping UA’s structure simple. This STBC-AF relay is one-directional relay. If STBC-AF relay is applied to bi-directional communication, the peak throughput is decreased to half that of one-directional relay. In this paper, we propose a space-time block coded analog network coding (STBC-ANC) bi-directional relay in order to achieve higher throughput than STBC-AF relay while keeping transmission quality. In STBC-ANC bi-directional relay, two ground stations (GSs) transmit multiple signal blocks simultaneously to the UA relay station (RS) in the first time-slot. Then, UA-RS applies AF-STBC encoding, which consists of conjugate operation and block exchange, to the waveform received signal and amplifies and forwards it to two GSs in the second time-slot. Each GS removes own transmission signal component from received signal and then, performs a series of frequency-domain equalization (FDE), AF-STBC decoding and data demodulation. It was shown by the computer simulation that STBC-ANC bi-directional relay achieves 2 times higher throughput than STBC-AF relay. |
