| Abstract(in English) | To encourage the dissemination of our tactile map automated creation system and to gain the know-how in understandable tactile maps, we have been offering a tactile map creation service according to the demands of blind people and their helpers. This paper analyzes 120 tactile maps that were made in the five years from June 2010 to June 2015. Differences between cases in which maps were made use of in the life of blind people and those in which they were not show the requirements for understandable tactile maps and the users who can derive benefits from tactile maps. At the last part of this paper, a new tactile map creation system is described which was developed to modify the usability of the current system. |
