Empirical Approach for Multi-channel Switching with Frequency Drift Suppression by Thermal Compensation in TDA-DFB Laser Array

Abstract(in English) Tunable Distributed Amplification (TDA-) DFB Laser Array is a wide-band quasi-continuous tunable laser and suitable for fast wavelength switching. We evaluated the switching time regarding ~1ms cycle two wavelengths switching both for intra-LD and inter-LD. Switching time for intra-LD switching has been suppressed by injecting compensation current for neighboring LD. On the other hand, switching time for inter-LD switching was suppressed by heating the LD by injecting control current in advance.
