| Abstract(in English) | Preparations for 8K Super Hi-Vision satellite broadcasting (8K broadcasting) , which would be launched in 2018, are in progress at a fast pace. New media transport scheme called MMT (MPEG Media Transport) is adopted as the multiplexing technology for 8K broadcasting. Standards and operation guidelines for the first implementation of MMT-based broadcasting system are formulated. MMT was standardized to realize services without depending delivery channel by using it commonly in multiple channels. One of requirements of 8K broadcasting which is next-generation broadcasting is services that harmonized broadcasting and broadband networks. In this paper, we describe 8K broadcasting system and details of MMT and introduce use cases of harmonization of broadcast and broadband networks and test trial for showing its feasibility. |
