Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Previously, we performed numerical simulations to explore how optical energy (exciton) transfers in a network of quantum dots via optical near-field interactions and discovered a new phenomenon that we call “nano-chaos”, where the existing probability of energy oscillates in a chaotic manner when introducing delayed feedback in the energy transfer dynamics. In this study, we evaluate numerically the randomness and complexity of nano-chaos. We show that the randomness enhances with the increase in the sampling period, given as several pico seconds. This feature would be beneficial for physical random number generation. Formulating a new random walk model, we found that the nano-chaos-driven diffusion is non-stationary and achieves long-distance flights that cannot be done by traditional models. These results suggest that nano-chaos may be useful for new application purposes such as non-stationary search and efficient information transmission. |
