Abstract(in English) A spatial-spectral-efficiency (SSE)-enhanced multi-core fiber (MCF) was designed and fabricated by considering splicing loss, transmission distance, attenuation, and nonlinearity, using a calculation model assuming the nonlinear interference and the inter-core crosstalk as additive white Gaussian noises. The proposed MCF achieved highest SSE among ever-fabricated single-mode MCFs with transmission distance up to 4,000 km according to the calculation model.
