Abstract(in English) | Recently, a wireless medical and healthcare system has been paid attention as technology combining and utilizing both medical care and communication technology. Especially, Body Area Network (BAN), which constitutes radio communication network by small devices arranged on human body neighborhood, attracts attention. IEEE802.15.6, an international standard of BAN, supports only (63,51)BCH code as an error control scheme. However, the scheme con not manage a change of channel condition or user priority. In this study, concatenated codes using convolutional codes and Reed-Solomon (RS) codes are applied. A predefined combination of an inner code and an outer code is set according to channel condition and user priority. Then, the proposed scheme handles a change of channel condition by estimating it at a decoder. As a result of computer simulation, our proposed scheme has better bit error rate (BER) performance than the conventional scheme although channel condition changes. |
