Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In neurosurgery, surgeons need to compare the navigation monitor with the operative field to check the position information of the navigation system. Furthermore, they can’t use the information effectively because surgeons must reconstruct the information of the MR images and the microscopic image in their head. Then, we proposed a microscopic image overlay navigation system via an intraoperative real-time camera calibration algorithm. This camera calibration algorithm calculates the camera parameters using the position information of the navigation system and microscopic image. The proposed algorithm needed to detect the position information of bipolar automatically from the microscopic image to realize image overlay. Therefore, we propose automatically bipolar position detection algorithm for image overlay. In this study, we verified the bipolar detection algorithm from the microscopic image in neurosurgery.
