| Abstract(in English) | In this paper, we propose a new optical wireless Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) which is a developed version of the Asymmetrically Clipped Optical OFDM (ACO-OFDM) with Intensity Modulation / Direct Detection (IM/DD). While the ACO-OFDM uses only odd subcarriers, the proposed system uses several even subcarriers as well as the odd ones. Some even subcarriers do not interfere with odd ones even if their negative signal part is clipped. Thus, we can superpose some negative-clipped even subcarriers on the odd subcarriers the conventional ACO-OFDM uses. This paper shows that the proposed system is able to transmit 1.5 times as much data as the conventional ACO-OFDM in the same bandwidth. However the proposed system requires a higher $E_{b(rm elec)}/N_0$ than the conventional ACO-OFDM about 1 [dB] for the BER of $10^{-5}$. |
