Abstract(in English) This paper presents a novel method for estimating the critical flicker frequency (CFF), a key measure of mental fatigue, from the features of Heart Rate Variability (HRV) by using a regression analysis. While CFF is often used to assess mental fatigue, it requires a temporary stoppage of work. Our solution focuses HRV, which can be continuously measured by a heart rate sensor, and estimate CFF from HRV. First of all, the relationship between CFF and HRV is clarified and then a method is proposed to estimate CFF from HRV features. We evaluate our method by an experiment, the results of which confirm the superiority of the proposal method. This work indicates the possible application of estimating CFF from HRV during working.
