A Study of Design Method on HW/SW Cooperative Image Processing System

Abstract(in English) A system design method to build an image processing system, which is capable of high-functionality and real-time response, is demanded. FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) is capable of real-time and parallel processing by programming an arbitrary circuit, however, it has a problem of its low design productivity. So it is expected to realize a design method for a short-term system development by the cooperative processing of hardware (HW) and software (SW). In this study, we discuss the design method of HW/SW cooperative image processing system using an FPGA chip with ARM processors. As a case study, a development of high-performance processing for stabilizing navigational images of a camera on a ship in an automatic watching system is introduced.
