Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Lately, smart grid that facilitates the operation of renewable energy has attracted attention, and smart meter network is one of the technologies to support the operation. In urban areas, it is assumed that power usageinformation is collected with wireless multi-hop communication between meter nodes based on RPL (Routing Protocol for Low power and Lossy Networks). However, due to the differences in the number of data packet relays to a sink, a large difference in the power consumption occurs between nodes which are near to the sink and are distant from the sink. This is called the hot spot problem, and results in lower Network Lifetime in smart meter networks where meter nodes are powered by batteries. Although some existing methods alleviate the hot spot problem, they assume that only one sink is working in a network. Therefore, in this paper, in environments where there are multiple working sinks, we propose dynamic switching method of multiple working sinks considering their relative positions to each other to prolong Network Lifetime, and evaluate its effectiveness.
