Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Super-channel transmission is a promising technique to increase a channel capacity in next generation optical transport networks. The performance of a super-channel comprising multiple carriers, however, degrades if particular carriers are severely impaired by the optical filtering or polarization dependent loss (PDL) effects. In this paper, we experimentally demonstrate the performance improvement of the super-channel transmission for the optical filtering and the PDL by using the Walsh-Hadamard Transform (WHT) method. We also show that the WHT method effectively reduces the outage probability by using an extreme value statistical method.
