Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) When we receive auditory feedback with a several hundred milliseconds' delay, we tend to speak less fluently. This is called the delayed auditory feedback (DAF) effect. We investigated how the contents (meaningful sentence or meaningless sentence), speech rate (fast, normal or slow) and delay time (100, 200, 300 or 400ms) would affect the speech under DAF conditions. As a result, we found that speaking meaningless sentences was less affected than speaking meaningful sentences and that speaking fast was less affected than speaking slowly. We also found that speaking with a 200-ms delay was more affected than with other time delays regardless of the contents and the speech rates.
