| Abstract(in English) | This study examined how facial expression and age of target faces influence the evaluation of trait impressions and how it is different between younger and older adults. In the experiment, facial expression images (angry, happy, and neutral) of younger and older adults were presented. Younger and older adult participants judged trait impressions (attractiveness, trustworthiness, aggressiveness) of the facial images. Younger adult participants showed more positive impressions for images of older adults than those of younger adults, whereas older adult participants did not show this tendency. Older adult participants rated images of older adults with angry expression less attractive than those of younger adults. Older adult participants also rated angry faces less aggressive than younger adult participants. |
